The Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (MASWCD) has named Fultz Farms (Eric Fultz, Dennis Fultz, Jay Fultz, James Fultz, and Brian Fultz) as one of eight Area Finalists in the 2022 Outstanding Conservationist Award Program.  Fultz Farms will be recognized at a Dec. 14 luncheon at MASWCD’s 86th annual convention in Bloomington.  The awards program recognizes farm families, individuals, conservation organizations, and other groups for their accomplishments in implementing conservation practices and improving Minnesota’s natural resources.

Of the eight finalists, one will be announced as the State’s Outstanding Conservationist of the Year at the Dec. 14 luncheon.

“We’re proud of the work that Fultz Farms has put into conserving and restoring the natural resources in our County,” said Jeff Potter, supervisor of the Redwood Soil and Water Conservation District, which nominated Fultz Farms for the award. “It’s always an honor to recognize those in our County who are making conservation efforts an integral part of their farming operation.  They’ve provided a wonderful example for us by being one of the main advocates for a water retention project down by the Tracy Golf Course.  While the project is taking place on the Fultz’s property, the benefits will largely be felt by downstream landowners.  Joined by their neighbors, the effort put forth over the last 10 years to get this project accomplished should not go unnoticed,” he said.

MASWCD sponsors the Outstanding Conservationist Award Program, with support from The Farmer magazine.
