Soil and Water Stewardship
"Dig It! The Secrets of Soil" is the theme for the 2009 Soil and Water Conservation Week, April 26th - May 3rd, 2009. 2009 marks the 54th year the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) has helped the nation's families, teachers, clergy and others share the meaning of soil and water stewardship through this observance. Each year, the Redwood Soil and Water Conservation District offers stewardship materials, free of charge, to churches throughout the county. Extra materials are shared with local restaurants and other businesses. The observation is promoted through articles sent to newspapers in the county and public service announcements on local radio.
